Headlines

Week three provided us with some interesting scores and stories. Here are the headlines:

Thompson Valley Upsets Golden

The Eagles had been on our radar from the beginning of the season, but we expected them to be a middle of the pack team that does just enough to get themselves into the postseason.

Boy were we wrong!

Now the Eagles are 4-0 after upsetting the #4 Golden Demons by a score of 10-2. Watch out for this team in the coming weeks!

Cherry Creek Obliterates Arapahoe

Cherry Creek provided us quite the surprise in what should have been the best game of the week. The #3 Bruins faced off against the #2 Arapahoe Warriors on Wednesday night at the Stutler Bowl. The Bruins started the game hot on a huge run and never looked back. The final score from this top-5 matchup: 21-5. After this, Cherry Creek has proven itself as a title contender while Arapahoe has left us searching for answers.

5A Lewis-Palmer beats 4A Valor Christian

Just based off of the headline, this doesn’t seem like much of a surprise. However, the Eagles are more than capable of beating many teams in 5A including Lewis-Palmer. They’ve done it before. They should’ve done it again.

But they didn’t. Instead, Lewis-Palmer beat Valor 8-6 and handed the defending state champs their second straight loss.
